Industrial Products Overview

Industrial lenses

IODA designs and produces a wide range of ophthalmic and industrial lenses. These lenses can be either in Mineral, such as crown (BK7) or Flint glass (KzF2), or special anti RX glass (used to produce special glasses for specific usages in medical rooms).

For lighting applications, we have developed a new production system that allows us to create even small batches in low times and costs using an “unknown” material in this sector, let’s talk about the REVO-01 polyurethane.

The choice of the materials to produce the lens depends on different factors: the final usage, the electromagnetic spectrum, the robustness and mechanical deformability, the reduction of aberrations, the requested target price by the customer.

IODA has developed a new polyurethane material, called REVO-01, which produces lenses specifically dedicated to the lighting world.

Most of our products are:

Aspherical led lens diameter 14mm, material BK7

  • Design of optical systems or lenses for specific applications.
  • Aspherical LED lenses in BK7 glass.
  • Flat convex and boconvex lenses up to a diameter of 300mm.
  • Prisms.
  • Cylindrical lenses.
  • Polishing of steel molds for molding polycarbonate lenses. in resin and subsequently coated.
  • Glass domes for pyranometers.
  • Collimating lenses for lighting applications.
  • Array of lenses for lighting applications.
  • High efficiency optical mirrors.
  • Ad hoc lighting systems for linear cameras.

Free Form Production line

In the summer of 1609 Galileo Galilei learned that some Dutch spectacles had made a curious optical instrument: a tube fitted at the ends of two lenses, looking through which distant objectsappeared closer, since then many things have changed, for example the geometry of the lenses.

In the past, but still today in many applications, the optical surfaces of the lenses were obtained with an abrasive tool that moved from the center to the edge of the lens as it rotated, the quality of the surface was linked to the craftsmanship and experience of the craftsman but the profile it was always with a constant radius, therefore spherical cap portions.

We at IODA wanted to go further, investing in a Free Form production line and, wanting to do things well, we turned to the best by contacting OptoTech GmBh this allows us to create “complex surfaces”.

By “complex surfaces” we mean all non-spherical profiles, for example progressive lenses, in which there is an area for distance vision and another for near vision or aspherical surfaces (asf), whose trend is given by mathematical formulas, mostly parabolic, elliptic or hyperbolic.
