REVO-01 The ultimate Led lenses material.

IODA is a company engaged in the design and production of lenses. Therefore the technology developped for the management of the light beam emitted from a LED source is not based on the study of the reflectors, but of lenses that are penetrated by the light emitted that “drive” the light beam by adjusting the amplitude of the output angle ensuring maximum efficiency.

These lenses have been developed for use with single diode LEDs (Series N) or for the use of C.O.B. (Series D), both these series have aspherical profiles.

Initially all lenses were made of optical glass (NB-K7) using the Free Form line but the production cost was too high so we had to find the alternative way to produce the lenses, with this objective in mind we developed, in collaboration with ACOMON AG, a new polyurethane material called REVO-01.

Differences between REVO-01 and PMMA

1. Higher refractive index (1506 instead 1491) results in a greater ability to deflect light.

2. Higher Abbe number (54 instead of 52) results in lower color distortion.

3. Higher index-transmitted light (92.5 instead of 91.5) results in higher yield.

4. Lower specific gravity (1:11 instead of 1.19), lighter material.

5. Increased resistance to abrasion. (PMMA is softer and more prone to scratches).

6. Resistance to solvents and chemicals (the material does not deteriorate if cleaned with substances containing acetone or benzene), the PMMA deteriorates immediately.

7. Resistance to high temperature, (the material resists temperatures up to 140 ° c without deteriorating it deform).

8. Increased resistance to UV rays (does not deteriorate when used with LED sources, even if high power).

9. Improved stability over time, timeless material.
